Web & Social Media

Using a Website
As part of being an editor, one of my jobs is to effectively use our website to report on when we release issues as well as extra content and updates. Unfortunately, our website has been down, and we are in the process of getting a new one from our school corporation. Prior to it breaking I did updates to most of our bios, published a link to our fall issue, and planned to revamp it to make it easier to use and more aesthetically pleasing.

Social Media Reporting
Unfortunately, Crown Point School Corporation does not allow students to run our social media pages, but we do try our best to stay relevant by reposting important updates about what is happening in the school on our Twitter and any news regarding Inklings that we feel is relevant to our audience like when we publish or if we have won some big award.

Finding New Ways to Communicate
I remember distinctly on March 13, 2020 when my school went completely virtual. That day was the start of a lot of new experiences, but one of the many was learning to be a reporter during a global pandemic. I had to learn to be a student reporter when we didn't have access to a school of students. As a way to still produce content we posted news stories on our website to still stay relevant and connect during a time when the world was so isolated.
