Natural Language Processing

For this project I worked with a group of three other people to use Natural Language Programming (NLP) to create a reccomendation system based on an existing dataset that could be used to make movie/tv show reccomendations.

Working on such a large project was a great challenge in teamwork, commmunication, and time management. I have attached the final report as well as Github folder with the code and dataset for reference.

Social Media Data

For this project I had to choose a Youtube video or a set of Youtube videos to analyze in order to answer a specific research question. For fun, I decided to analyze reaction videos to the release of Nintendo's "Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" which released on 2023. This was a fantastic project to not only stretch my research skills but also my skills as a programmer as a I had to write all the code for the visualizations and the sentiment analysis using Python.

Foundations of Data Studies

For my Information and Data Sciences class final project, I chose to do an analysis/visualization of how the Gender Inequality Index (GII) works and how the factors used to calculate a country's overall GII score impact the final result. This also looked at factors such as the Human Development Index (HDI) of a country as well as outside factors.

Below are some of the graphics I made to accompany the paper. Visualizing the relationships in the data.

Course Development - CoPilot Integration

During my time as a TA, I developed new assignments and curriculum for the reimagined versions of Information Infrastructure I and II. For these courses I worked with Dr. Xander Krohannon to integrate CoPilot as part of the course to teach students how to use generative tools in a thoughtful way. Part of this as developing new assignment structures that required students to interact with CoPilot to develop code that corresponded with the provided assignments. To the side is my Github link with the assignments I developed and tested as part of this course redevelopment.

Redefining the Bookstore

For this final project, I worked with another student, Kylie Heagy, to scrape a website, Bookstoscrape.com, and then perform an analytics analysis based on the information we came up with. Below is the Github link to the code we generated and the final paper we created.
